A native Oregonian with a background in private business, the nonprofit world, and law, Doug Stamm has been executive director of Meyer Memorial Trust since April 2002. Mr. Stamm has fiscal, leadership, and administrative responsibilities for the Trust, which has awarded over 4,000 grants, in excess of $300,000,000, to organizations in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
Prior to joining the Meyer Trust, as National Director of Portland-based Friends of the Children, Stamm initiated the expansion of its model program to ten cities across the United States.
Before entering the nonprofit world in a professional capacity, Mr. Stamm held several executive positions at NIKE beginning in 1989, including global director of public affairs (which included the NIKE Foundation), assistant director of sports marketing, and assistant corporate counsel.
Prior to joining NIKE, Mr. Stamm worked for 10 years as an attorney in private practice with a focus on corporate litigation.
Stamm is a graduate of both Stanford University (BS 1975) and Northwestern School of Law (JD 1979). He has served on a number of national and local boards of organizations primarily involved with youth. He currently sits on the board of Grantmakers of Oregon and Southwest Washington.
